I was so sad to her that George had passed away. "George the Mailman" was a huge part of my childhood, I'll always have fond memories of seeing him eveyday, he really did bring joy to everyone. He was like our very own pied piper. (He always told me to put my shoes on,"you could get lockjaw" I'm still always barefoot) God bless you George

Grandpa George. That is who he has been to Jackie, Kaitlin, Madelene & Lainy. Always with a quick smile, a snack in the cupboard, and a word of love. A God given father figure who didn't reprimand but always encouraged. While our hearts break at our loss we are rejoycing in God's granting him his greatest desire to go home to be with our Lord and Savior. A void he has filled will bear the fruit of many fond memories from here on out. As great as our loss is, we have great sorrow for his family who will carry the burden of loss for him. Prayers to you all.

Oh George, how you light up our lives. Our fondest joy was to be able to surprise you with your meeting of Lois and John from Philly at the AMVETS dinner-the tears, laughter, saddness and joy all wrapped into one-it was a wonderful happening and we were able to do something for you; a wish before you left us. We will miss you from the bottom of our hearts but the memories we have will always make us smile. Thank you for your service and thank you for sharing your life. We love U!

Mr. Shagla was a true gentleman who would welcome you into his home and make you feel welcome. He would engage you with stories and ideas. He always had a smile, a firm handshake, and a knowing eye about our shenanigans. I wish his family peace and comfort with his passing. A unique man.

George was one of the first people I met when I lived in Jamestown,on Spring St. He was a handsome looking man, with a great personality. We got to know one another as friends when I lived on Spring St. in Jamestown, and he lived close to my family. He was always so friendly and made us laugh.I had'nt seen him in a long time, but I remember him from my "younger" days as a good friend. God,Please keep him safe

Lori:
I am so sorry to have read of your Dad's passing. I feel so sorry that I can not attend any of the services, as I have a prior committment our of town. I will never forget how kind he was especially to a new young supervisor at the Jamestown Post Office. During my career I can say he was one of the finest employees the Postal Service had. He was always a gentleman and went out of his way to help whenever he could.
I greatly enjoyed spending time with him a few years ago in Allegany and later at breakfast in Jamestown.
He was a class act. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Uncle George,
Brother of my father. I will always remember the great stories you told me as a child and the ones we talked about when I came home from the Marines. It is with great sadness that this day had to come. You were the last of a great family and it is up to the rest of us to keep up that memory.
