Obituary of Robert H. Samuelson
Robert H. Samuelson, 92, formerly of 102 Howard St. died at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday (March 31, 2010) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area resident he was born February 24, 1918 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Samuel and Esther Samuelson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from August 14, 1942 to October 11, 1945 during World War II.
Before his retirement he was employed by the former Dahlstrom Manufacturing Corporation where he was a clerk and earlier worked as a cabinet maker in the assembly department.
He was a life member of the Herman Kent Post 777 American Legion, Celoron and was also a member of the Jamestown Moose Lodge.
Surviving are two sons Robert E. Samuelson, Terry A. Samuelson both of Jamestown, two daughters Beverly A. Alexander of Val Rico, FL, Robin A. Osrash of Oshkosh, WI, nine grandchildren Steven Samuelson of Sidney, NE, David Samuelson of Wheatfield, NY, Brian Samuelson of Owego, NY, Dawn Wozniak of Westfield, NY Stephanie Samuelson of Missoula, MT, Tara Samuelson, Sara Samuelson, Scott Samuelson all of Jamestown, Tommy Billigen of Slinger, WI and six great grandchildren Brianna, Matthew, Christian (C.J.), Cayleigh Samuelson, Tahj Bundy and Braelyn Rebecca Billigen.
He was preceded in death by his wife the former Vera M. Youmans Samuelson whom he married December 31, 1943 and who died November 22, 1998 and a brother Paul Samuelson.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt, Chaplain of the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
