Obituary of Sarah J. Forlander
Sarah J. Klawon Forlander, 88, formerly of Tanglewood Manor and Greenhurst Mobile Village, died at 11:05 a.m. Sunday (March 28, 2010) in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born May 13, 1921 in Seattle, WA, the daughter of the late Joseph Kaye and Tressia Kaye Easton.
For many years, Sarah was manager of the Fountain Bowl and Flamingo Lanes. A top area bowler, she was a member of the New York State Bowling Hall of Fame, and was a bowling instructor in the area for many years. Sarah also enjoyed knitting and crafts.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey M. Klawon of Casa Grande, AZ; Gregory W. Klawon of Jamestown; a daughter, Kathy M. Bentley Kamery of Fredonia; nine grandchildren, Wenda Klawon, Jeffrey Klawon, Michael Klawon, Shari Saddler, Kristina Calhoun, Jason Klawon, Sara Klawon, Gregory Klawon, and Matt Klawon; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, William A. Klawon who died May 1, 1982; her second husband, Henry G. "Hank" Forlander who died January 5, 2006; a sister, Katherine Chandler; and a brother, Joseph Kaye.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Family Church 3130 Garfield Road Jamestown. Pastor Timothy Stahlman will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Family Church Building Fund, 3130 Garfield Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
