I worked at Alltel and spoke to Mr. Heft on the phone many times after he retired. He was always gracious and kind. I will always remember the funny jokes he read to me over the phone, which made my days at work a little brighter. He spoke to me often of the love of his life, Dorothy, and sent me a picture of them together when they were young--standing next to a Model T. Yes, I will miss the phone calls and visits we shared.
