Obituary of Carl H. Sandwall

Carl H. "Roy" Sandwall Sr., 96, of 4960 Rte 430 Bemus Point, died at 3:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. He was born September 18, 1913 in Jamestown the son of the late Carl O. and Hildur F. Lindquist Sandwall. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a spot welder at Watson Mfg. for over 36 years. Roy was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his honey bees. He also made his own garden tools. Surviving are three sons, Gerald G. Sandwall (Martha) of Germany; James L. Sandwall (Vera) and Carl H. Sandwall Jr., both of Bemus Point; eight grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha C. McIntyre Sandwall whom he married August 14, 1936 and who died June 2, 1992; a daughter, Shirley Rasmussen; and a brother, Carl C. Sandwall. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
