Obituary of Richard L. Frankson
Richard L. Frankson, 70, of 2445 Donelson Rd., Jamestown passed away Thursday (April 29, 2010) in W.C.A. Hospital following a brief illness.
A lifelong area resident he was born April 21, 1940 in Jamestown, NY a son of the late Raymond R. and Francis M. Lindberg Frankson.
Before his retirement he was employed as a sheet metal fabricator for Blackstone Business Enterprise where he worked for 14 years. He had previously worked for the former Jamestown Metal Corporation and the former Dahlstrom Manufacturing Corporation for 34 years.
He was a member of the Kiantone Congregational Church and served as a foster parent for 10 years. He also loved to square dance and was active with the "Circling Squares" dance group.
Surviving are his wife the former Catherine Caruso whom he married July 12, 1980, a son Todd A. (Sara) Frankson of Warren, PA, three step-children Nancy Henderson of Jamestown, Ronald (Paula) Swartz of Eldred, PA, Russell (Kimberlee) Swartz of Jamestown, six grandchildren, one great grandchild and three brothers Donald R. Frankson of Greenhurst, Robert D. Frankson, David A. Frankson both of Jamestown and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Jerry D. Frankson and a sister Joyce E. Patterson.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Kiantone Congregational Church. Pastor James Mitchener will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Kiantone,
Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home.
