Obituary of Brian L Woodruff

Brian L. Woodruff, 65, of 885 Blockville-Watts Flats Rd. Ashville died at 7:05 a.m. Saturday (May 1, 2010) at his home. An area resident for most of his life he was born July 5, 1944 in Buffalo, NY a son of the late Lyle and Victoria M. Dawdy Woodruff. Before his retirement he had worked for the former Blackstone Corporation which later became Valeo Engine Cooling, working for both companies for over 40 years. In earlier years he was a member of the Jamestown Eagles Club. Surviving are six children Charles Scholton of Lewistown, PA, Bradley Woodruff of Lexington, TN, Melissa (Tim) Meacham of Jamestown, Melinda Woodruff of Jackson, TN, Dolores (Dale) Schweizer of Pratt, KS, Vickie Woodruff of Celoron, 16 grandchildren, two sisters Brenda (Roger) Smith of Jamestown, Diane (Ron) Link of Stockton, two brothers Gilbert (Peggy) Woodruff, Neal (Patty) Woodruff all of IN and his companion of several years Penelope (Penny) Smith. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Brian L. Woodruff, Jr. and an infant brother. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Carnes will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
