Obituary of Charles Search, Sr.

Charles Search, Sr., 79, was born and raised in Jamestown then settled in Buffalo for 24 years, eventually retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada, died Friday April 30, 2010, in Hospice of the Treasure Coast, Ft. Pierce, FL. He was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School and later graduated from Fredonia State University with a degree in music education. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Army. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Buffalo Public Schools System as a music teacher for 26 years. He loved to travel, fish, play Texas Hold'em, and spend time with his family. Surviving are two sons Charles Search, Jr. of Huntington Beach, CA and Salvatore Search of Port St. Lucie, FL, two sisters Jennie Risberg of Kansas City, MO and Verna D'Agostino of Tonawanda, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Carmella Parla, whom he married February 3, 1962 and who died December 20, 1982 and five sisters Lillian Berg, Josephine Mclain, Marietta Johnson, Eleanor Turnquist and Carrie Sanfilippo. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
