Grandpa, I miss you more than I can say. In the past few days, I have had several thoughts of you, I surely do know that you are looking down on me. Luckily for me, I am smiling as I remember these memories because you made them something to laugh about.
I was reminded about one day when we were at the light by the Red Cross- the light turned green and you squealed the tires. Yes, I never told anyone, but boy was it funny, a grandpa who squealed the tires. Not to mention, I just followed someone going too slow and remembered how 'fast' you could drive and get us where ever we needed to go safely. Not to mention, you would put down anything to do anything for me....For this I am very greatful.
The other day, I got very upset about something and the first things that came out of my mouth, nothing but the naming of the Holy Family (Jesus, Mary and Joseph). You will never be forgotten. I will remember you always.
"We only part to meet again."

I was always impressed with Mr. Rhoney's committment to faith and family. He was always cheerful and concerned about those in need. Truly, he was one of those Christian men who can best be desribed as "a prince in the Kingdom of God."

Ed was inspirational to me in my faith. I met Ed and Irma when I joined a Renew group at St. John's. It was a magical group, and we shared so much. I was so honored when Ed asked me to become a Eucharistic Minister. I now serve in my home parish in Ambridge, PA. Ed was a remarkable man--strong in faith. My sincere sympathy to Irma and children.

Mrs. Rhoney, Helen and Chris:
So sad to hear of your father's passing. I only knew him a short while; but as with all of the other veteran's that went to D.C. last year--he was so appreciative of the trip and all it represented. My Dad still talks about it today--just like it was yesterday. All of my love to your family. I know he will be greatly missed. In Christian love, Julious Elmore and Nancy Cook from Magnolia, AR.
Our local paper did an article on Dad too. It was so nice. Thank you for keeping in touch and letting us be informed. Love to all--Nancy

I am glad to have known Ed through my son John's membership in Cub Scout Pack #144 at Holy Family School. Ed always put his scouts first, treating each as an individual, and ensuring that each was recognized for his accomplishments no matter how small. He tried to instill the tenants of scouting into each boy by training and by his own personal example. He will be missed, but his legacy lives on in the lives of those who were blessed to know him.

Dear Aunt Irma and Family;
Uncle Eddie was a loving man with with a great sense of humor and many stories to share. I will always cherish our family trips to Jamestown because he made us feel welcome in his home. We enjoyed Uncle Eddie's breakfast and no one could sing the "Mr. ZIP Zip Song" like him. Our children still talk of it today. Your family should be proud that God blessed you with a husband, dad and grandfather that lived such an enriched life. Uncle Eddie you will be missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family today. Love, Donald, Dolores, Jennifer and Shawn

As I sit here pondering what to write about my grandfather, I have come to the realization that he has taught me the basis of what it means to live ones life to the fullest combined with all the characteristics and traits of a successful person regardless of how difficult and trying it may be at times.
I have so many memories of my grandfather: going to the Lucille Ball Little Theater (which I still have all the ticket stubs), spending the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house, eating his famous pancakes, talks on the porch, going to the ER because I fell into the sprinkler, Ellery Country Cow, rides in the Chrysler, and Davidson's for Fish fry. But these memories combined into one made my grandfather one of the most honorable, loving, caring, helpful, trustworthy, educated, admirable, brave, strong, kind, loving, and successful individuals I will ever know. For this, I take away the knowledge and legacy of knowing a wonderful family man and individual that I will take with me my whole life forward who I called Grandpa. I love you!

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Cor. 3:17-18
Mr. Rooney showed God's Glory in his laughter, character and unique love of family. It lives on in his beautiful family and friends. We are better off for having known such a kind and compassionate person. God Bless and Peace.

I owe much to Ed Rhoney. Fifteen years ago he gave to me the greatest gift I have ever received, his daughter Kathleen. Ever since the day I met him and the rest of the Rhoney family, they embraced me as one of their own. The twinkle in his eyes when he laughed was a beautiful sight to behold. My prayers are with the family and his many friends. As the Irish blessing says “Until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”, I am sure He will. We love you dad, God Bless you. Having met Christopher Rhoney in Zweibruecken / Germany, I later visited the Rhoney Family in 1991, where I had the honour to meet Mr. Rhoney once.
I remember his freindly and carefully and knowingly listening way.
The impulses he gave me in one long evening conversation in this summer 1991 were among those wich later helped me to find my way back after my cancer in 1992 - not only from my illness, but also from some major errors concerning my life.
My thoughts are with Mrs Rhoney, Chris and Brendan, and all the Family.
I will thankfully remember Mr Rhoney and keep him in my prayers.
Albert Hemmer, Koenigswinter, Germany.
