Obituary of Allan B. Abbott
Allan B. Abbott, Sr., 70 of Van Buren Street, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday in his home surrounded by his beloved family.
A lifelong Jamestown resident, he was born January 15, 1940 the son of the late Harry and Delores Carlson Abbott, Jr.
He was a 1958 graduate of Jamestown High School.
He was employed by the City of Jamestown Board of Public Utilities as a lineman. He also worked as a bartender at various places including Ira Lou Spring Post#149 American Legion, War Vets Recreation and Nic-L-Inn Restaurant.
He will be remembered as a very outgoing, good natured man with a wonderful sense of humor.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years Phyllis Genco Abbott; three daughters Kim (Doug) Jordan, Dee (Jim) Frank and Jean (Dan) Harnish; a son Allan B. Abbott, Jr.; a sister Sandra (Sandy) Galati; eight grandchildren Jason (Leigh) Jordan, Jessica (Dave) Klemens, Dereck Frank, Ericka (Kelly) Carpenter, Daniel Harnish, Nicholas Harnish, Alyssa and Brianna Abbott; and one great grandchild Riley Carpenter.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will not be observed.
