While many children make heros of sports figures they see on TV and make millions of dollars I made Jim Pollaro one of mine. I was a huge childhood fan of Stateline Speedway. When it was my turn to race and Jim noticed me I was thrilled. I was even more thrilled in later years when I found that Jim was the man charged with getting my children to school safely! I will miss you Jim!

To me he was as tough as they come and as kind as could be. You never forget a childhood hero, you never forget a standout performer, you never forget a friend. I will never forget Jim. As Lloyd Williams used to say, From Jamestown,NY in the 41 Gentleman Jim Pollaro. Nice going Jim. I'm proud to say I knew him.

Uncle Jimmie, You will be missed so much. I know that it has been years since we had seen each other but that never diminished how much love I feel for you.
Thank you for everything you did for our family when we were growing up. I know that you always helped us in any way that was ever asked of you.
I wasn't able to be there today, but I was there in spirit and have been thinking of the whole family all day.
I found this interview today and it made my day.

Jimmy was a awsome person. He was one of my favorit people of the Jamestown school bus drivers. For 4 years of high school Jimmy was always there at the high school. But there was times he was not there but I would always still check. But anyways mostly everyday I would go past his bus and bounce up and down.He loved it.Jimmy had a nickname for me and everyday he would put a smile on my face and I would do the same for Jimmy. That man had a good time with the kids on the bus.He would joke with them and even laugh with them.even other kids that knew Jimmy. He was very much loved from them kids and others around him.My mom worked with him and she came to me and told me that he pasted away. That was my best memorie of Jimmy.Cant believe he is gone. But this goes to all that loved him.He dont hurt,no more pain and no worries. He is on a better place.God bless you all.My last words is i love you Jimmy

I have many fond memories of being at the track with my Dad, in Jim's pit before and after the races. He was always very kind and generous to a young kid hanging around. I remember a few times he let me sleep in the back of his car when my Dad had to help him out with the race car after a long night. And I may have also learned a few new words along the way! For the better part of my childhood, there wasn't a Saturday night I didn't leave the house without my "Jim Pollaro Racing" hat (which I still have). You'll be dearly missed Jim. RIP #41

I remember going to work with Grandma when I was little and always being excited to see Jim. Also, I remember always sitting with Jim and everyone @ War Vets and the Celeron Legion, and he was always joking around and visiting with me, and bugging me to have some popcorn. He was a great man and I'll never forget him.

RIP Uncle Jimmy, It has been years since I seen you. But I always have and always will cherish the memories I was lucky enough to share with you. I remember as a little girl we would get together every weekend, go out and have breakfast. Then visit the cemetery, you would sit me on your lap and let me help steer your car threw the cemetery. One time we hit a snowbank :), and you were so patient. I have one more angel watching over me, and my daughter Jasmine. Tell my Grandpa Bernie, I said hello and love him. Love always, Jolene and family.

Jim used to do all the work on our ambulances when he owned CWO, and I got to know him quite well. He was always there to help us, and we could always count on him. Especially the day he was there to lift a car off of a man so that I could crawl under and try to help him. I probably owed my life to him that day. Jim always held a special place in my heart and I hope that his family will find peace, comfort and healing. Thanks, Jim for being my friend those many years ago.

I shall always remember Jim and his way with self-depracating humor. He poked a lot of fun but enjoyed poking himself the most. The memories of Jim are fantastic. I shall always remember riding my bicycle to the North Main Amoco just to enjoy being around him while he worked on his race cars, and the stories he told...Thanks Jim, you are certainly one of the brightest places in my memory.

Jimmy the bus driver is what all the JHS sports kids & parents knew him as. He was the SR bus driver for JHS football and the boys couldn't wait to be on the "SR bus". He loved the boys and always asked about them years later. He said hello to you no matter where he saw you even when I saw him recently. Jimmy really had "RAIDER PRIDE" and made the football years more memorable. There was great comaraderie between parents, coaches, players, cheerleaders and yes even the BUS DRIVER .. You will be missed, Jimmy!
