Obituary of Eddie Lee Allette

Eddie Lee Allette, 84, of 2694 Tompkins Road, died at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday (May 26, 2010) in her home, surrounded by her loving family following a yearlong battle with cancer. She was born September 14, 1925 in Huntsville, TX the daughter of the late John D. and Elma Shipp Weeks. Eddie Lee was proud of her Native American Heritage. She loved hummingbirds, and going fishing. Her greatest love was caring for her family, who in return cared for her until the moment of her passing. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph C. Allette whom she married July 26, 1943; three sons, Joseph Allette of Allen, TX; Michael Allette and Gary Allette (Serena), both of Jamestown; five grandchildren, Nichole Cady, Brittany Allette, Michael Allette, all of Jamestown; Joey Allette of Allen, TX; and David Allette of Washington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice Chautauqua County, 20 W. Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750.
