My deepest sympathies, the entire family is in our thoughts and prayers. It is difficult to describe what an important influence Mr. Abdella had on my life. As a teenager, he was my Sunday School teacher, and during these formidable years, he provided invaluable influence and advice that helped form the foundation of my core values. He was an amazing man.
In addition, the 4th of July family picnics at the Abdella home on the lake are imbedded in my memories as some of the greatest times that me and family had. Especially the volleyball and wifely ball games!

Many thanks to Jim for the countless hours of professional service to the United Methodist Church. 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' Matthew 25:21. It is time to share God's happiness. You will me missed.

I have many fond memories of the Abdella family,I graduated with Victor in 1955.I remember Hykel as a good football player while in high school and how well he and Josephine looked out for their family.I'm so sorry he suffered so long with cancer.I'm sure he fought it to the very end.My brother Richard died of cancer at the age of 17,and it took my father at the age of 87!
Rest in Peace,Hykel, and may God Bless and Comfort your family.

Sue, and family,
Sorry we can't be there with you today, but we are still in Florida. We have so many fond memories of church, choir parties etc with you. Quite often I think of Peter and Jeffery as little tots walking down the church hall with Dorisanne Rinaldo...one fair with blonde hair, and the other like a little tanned baby and darkhair. They were quite a pair! Our deepest sympathy and prayers go with you over your loss.

I came to know Jim (and Sue) through my friendship with his son, Stephen. My greatest sadness is not having told Jim how much I respect Stephen and how his integrity and love for life has made me a better person. I hope HJ will still receive this message.

Dear Sue and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Jim was always an "in the moment" person and had a sincere, pleasant countenance about him. We were neighbors on Chestnut Street, Hotel Jamestown Office Building and always friends. He will be sadly missed.
"Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I did not die"
