Obituary of Avis G. Ramsey

Avis G. Ramsey, 100, of 896 Hunt Road, formerly of the Warner Home, died at 2:52 p.m. Sunday (June 20, 2010) in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born October 22, 1909 in Ordinary, KY the daughter of Robert and Mary Howard Mayse. Avis moved to the Lakewood area in 1940 and wintered in Florida for many years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown. Surviving are three grandchildren, Charles "Chuck" L. Pennington of Seattle, WA; Thomas E. Pennington of Carlsborg, WA; Linda J. Pennington of Seattle; and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Elton O. Ramsey whom she married May 1, 1954 in Daytona Beach, FL and who died September 4, 1976; a son, C R Pennington; and a sister, Peachy Marie Chrysler. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Thursday in the funeral home.
