Obituary of Robert L. Peterson

Robert L. Peterson, 63, of 106 Stewart Ave. Jamestown, died Monday (March 15, 2010) in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 30, 1946 in Jamestown the son of the late William A. and Dorothy Wilcox Peterson. Bob was a US Air Force veteran serving from 1966 until 1969, working as a jet mechanic. Prior to retirement, Bob was a member of Carpenters Local 66 serving on their board for six years. He was a life member of Robert P. Illig Chapter 47 DAV; and a member of John W. Tiffany Post 53 VFW. He was also a member of the Carroll Lodge 1147 F & AM, Frewsburg; and the Consistory. Bob enjoyed working in his wood shop and he loved spending time with his red headed granddaughters. Surviving are his wife, Donna Raffa Peterson whom he married November 9, 1966; a son, Robert A. (Deborah) Peterson of Jamestown; a daughter, Lori Ann (Matthew) Waag of Cherry Creek; four grandchildren, Cassandra Peterson of Warner Robins, GA; Malori Waag of Cherry Creek; James C. (Carolyn) Wendell of Vancouver, British Columbia; Jason T. Wendell of Malibu, CA; his infant neighbor Elaina who held a special place in his heart; two sisters, Sally Fahey of Glen Aubrey, NY; Rebecca Britton of Beloit, WI; two brothers, Charles Peterson of Bainbridge, NY; Richard Peterson of Tidioute, PA; an uncle, Carl O. (Nancy) Peterson of Cassadaga; a special sister in law, Loretta Delpriore of Batavia, NY; his best friend, Edwin Johnson; several nieces and nephews; and several close friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home.
