Obituary of Shirley A. Lindgren

Shirley A. Lindgren, 60, of 1136 N. Main St Jamestown, died Saturday (March 6, 2010) in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born June 14, 1949 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Fern Shaver Mackenzie. Shirley was a 1968 graduate of Southwestern Central High School and for 13 years worked at the Atlas Division of Crawford Furniture until its closing. She was an avid pool player and loved horses. Shirley had a deep love for her family and loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She also enjoyed being around people, all were welcome. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Lindgren whom she married August 15, 1975; six children, Karin (Mark) McAdoo of Jamestown; Cheryl (Kenneth) Hand of Warren, PA; Shawn Lindgren and Douglas Lindgren both of Jamestown; Stacey Lindgren of Georgia; Amy Lindgren of Jamestown; a step son, Dennis Gregory Lindgren of Delaware, NY; 12 grandchildren, Jossilynn, Mikayla, David, Matthew, Destiney, Cheyanna, Samantha, Dyllan, Thomas II, Tanisha, Jeremiah, Deaquan, one great granddaughter, Brehanna; two sisters, Sylvia Nixon of Celoron; Rose VanDeWark of Georgia; and two brothers, Marvin (Sharon) Mackenzie; and Paul (Marge) Cochrane of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Inez Shaver; an uncle, Raymond Shaver; and a nephew, Greg Mackenzie. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friend from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
