Obituary of Marion E. Lawrence

Marion E. Lawrence, 88, formerly of 4182 Bellview Road, died at 7:07 a.m. Wednesday (March 3, 2010) at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing. A Bemus Point resident for over 50 years, she was born March 9, 1921 in Ithaca, NY, a daughter of the late John and Marie (Farr) White. Marion was a member of Bemus Point United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women and Women for Mission. She also belonged to the Bemus Point Study Club and the St. Timothy Lutheran Church Braille Group, printing books for the blind. Marion was a gracious and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook, she loved family gatherings and she loved her church. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. Marion's family is most thankful for the excellent care she received during her time at Heritage Village in Gerry. She is survived by five children: Gifford (Jane) Lawrence of Tunkhannock, PA, David (Evie) Lawrence of Clarksburg, MD, Regina (Robert) Burlingame of Cassadaga, Andrew (Paula) Lawrence of Bemus Point and Dan Lawrence of Fredonia; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Anderson of Glens Falls, NY. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Reginald Lawrence who died September 6, 1998; and a sister, Margaret Hagin. A memorial service and visitation will be held at later date to be announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Bemus Point Cemetery.
