Obituary of Katherine E. Wenger

Katherine E. Wenger, 96, entered into the presence of the Lord on March 3, 2010 at heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Gerry. She was born June 23, 1913 in Jamesburg, NJ, the daughter of Katherine and Joseph Firestine Baumgartner. She was preceded in death by her husband William R. Wenger who passed away December 29. 1984. She lived a long, interesting life highlighted by an interest in music, current events and artistic pursuits. She was a musician who enjoyed playing piano for her friends and staff at Heritage Village. She was a compassionate woman who demonstrated Christian concern for the many with whom she interacted. Paramount in her life was passing on her faith to her children and to those around her. She is survived by two sons Joseph W. (Jean) Wenger of Jamestown, James W. (Joanne) Wenger of South Woodstock, CT, a daughter Elizabeth K. (David) Castello of Mount Joy, PA, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. James Read, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Jamesburg, NJ. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
