Obituary of Carol O. Carlson

Carol O. Carlson, 84, of 128 Camp St., died at 9:20 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Elmer L. "Doc" Carlson, whom she married October 26, 1946 and who died May 3, 1996. A lifelong area resident, Carol was born in Jamestown on October 15, 1925, a daughter of the late George and Anna Anderson Olson, and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1943. She had been employed by Anderson Precision for 25 years, retiring in 1982. Carol was a member of the Vikings, Allen Park Women's Club and former member of the Thule Lodge. She also belonged to the ADC Society, her high school sorority that has been together for 69 years. She is survived by three children: Candace (Tom) Joslyn of Jamestown, Steven T. (Nancy) Carlson of Riverview, FL and Jill Gass of Tampa, FL; three grandchildren: Jessica Carlson and Leslie Gass of Tampa, and Henry Gass of Naples, FL; two step-grandchildren, Joey Running of Brownsville, OR and James Bretz of Bellingham, WA; and a great-granddaughter, Cecelia Sperry of Tampa. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, LeRoy Olson and three sisters, Eleanor Haskins, Beverly Haworth and Lorraine Anello. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
