Obituary of June J. Bloomquist

June J. Bloomquist, 97, formerly of Covenant Manor, died at 1:28 a.m. Sunday (February 21, 2010) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A lifelong area resident she was born June 6, 1912 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Hjalmar and Ella Ecklund Bloomquist. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School and before her retirement was employed by the former National Worsted Mills for 11 years and the former Lundell Eckburg Company for five years. She was former member of the Jamestown Women of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary for over 26 years and also the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. Surviving is a great nephew Dr. Todd A. Jacobson of Jamestown and several great nieces and great nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Laverne and Charles Bloomquist, and two sisters Edna May Lind, Doris Jacobson. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, retired chaplain of W.C.A. Hospital will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
