Obituary of Marion E. Barkstrom

Marion E. Barkstrom, 99, formerly of 316 Lakeside Dr., Bemus Point, died Friday February 12, 2010, in Fairport, NY. She was born November 8, 1910, in the Town of Ellery, a daughter of William and Ella Shoemaker Underwood. She graduated from Chautauqua High School and Alfred University. She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore Barkstrom and a sister Isabel Lanphear. Surviving are two sons Robert (Janet) Barkstrom of Fairport and Richard (Nancy) Barkstrom of Jamestown, four grandchildren Scott (Diane) Barkstrom of Red Hook, NY, Gregory (Stacia) Barkstrom of Pittsford, NY, Deborah (David) Flavin of Baltimore, MD and Jeffrey (Una) Barkstrom of Jamestown, two step grandchildren Lindsay and Christopher Schenkel and seven great grandchildren Aaron, Brenna, Kiersten, Erik, Elyse and Jay Barkstrom and Emily Flavin. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Bemus Point United Methodist Church. Rev. Daniel McBride will officiate. Burial will be in Bemus Point Cemetery. Friends will be received from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the church. Memorials may be made to Bemus Point United Methodist Church, Bemus Point Library or a charity of choice. Arrangements are by the Lind Funeral Home.
