Obituary of Burton E. Muzzy

Burton E. Muzzy, 83, of 102 Greenhurst Village Dr., died Friday February 12, 2010, in his home. He was born June 22, 1926, in Panama, NY a son of the late Wallace and Bernice Emory Muzzy. He graduated from Panama High School was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1946-47. He was owner operator of Muzzy Plumbing and had earlier worked for Muzzy Feed Mill which was owned by his father. He was a long time member of Panama United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Fluvanna Community Church where he belonged since 1980. His other memberships include Lakewood Memorial Post #1286 American Legion, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club and Panama Volunteer Fire Department having served as chief in 1951. He was also a director of the Jamestown Post Office Credit Union. Surviving are his wife the former Doloris "Dottie" Marsh, who he married June 15, 1980, two daughters Joanne (Barry) Lindblom of Palm Harbor, FL and Suzanne (David) Sherman of Moon Township, PA, seven grandchildren Erin (John) Petti, Stephen and Katherine Lindblom and Eric, Chris, Brian and Michelle Sherman, a great granddaughter Sofia Petti, stepdaughters Sherry (Phil) Shay and Maleia (Paul) Fetters, both of Jamestown, a step son Fred Wing, Jr. of Anchorage, AK, four step grandchildren Michael, Jordon, Ashley and Nathan Wing, a sister Allene Dole of Bethel Park, PA, a niece Sylvia (Al) Armen of Bethel Park and a nephew Gregory (Barbara) Milleman, Jr. of Pompton Plains, NJ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Helen Milleman. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Fluvanna Community Church. Rev. Dayle F. Keefer will officiate. Inurnment will be in Panama Union Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Panama United Methodist Church, 12 E.
