Obituary of Leona K. Borst

Leona K. Borst, 97, of Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing, formerly of 80 Fairmount Ave, died Sunday February 7, 2010, in WCA Hospital. A Jamestown native, she was born September 2, 1912, a daughter of John and Hilda Johnson Anderson. She was a 1931 graduate of Jamestown High School and had worked for Meals on Wheels as a bookkeeper. She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses East Congregation. She enjoyed sewing. Surviving are two sons Adelbert Borst III of Brooklyn, NY and John Borst, Sr. of Jamestown, a daughter Kathleen Vullo of Lakeland, FL, four grandchildren Charles Vullo III of Val Rico, FL, Christopher Vullo of Nanchester, NH and Laura Hess and John Borst, Jr. of Jamestown, and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Adelbert Borst, whom she married March 25, 1933 and who died March 19, 1959, a granddaughter Regina Vullo in 2004, a brother Robert Anderson in 1969 and a sister Pearl Moore in 2007. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jehovah's Witness East Congregation Kingdom Hall, 180 Martin Rd, Jamestown. Kurt Hallberg will officiate Burial will be in Bentley Cemetery, Lakewood. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to Jehovah's Witness East Congregation.
