Obituary of Elizabeth R. Sandwall

Elizabeth R. Sandwall, 92, of 2814 Denslow Ave. died at 9:30 a.m. Friday (January 29, 2010) in W.C.A. Hospital. An area resident for most of her life she was born March 23, 1917 in Portland, NY a daughter of the late Ralph and Mabel Graff Clark. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School Class of 1935. Before her retirement she was employed as a head cashier for the former Acme Supermarket where she worked for over 35 years. In previous years she was very active with the Jamestown Women's Bowling Association and a member of the Viking Lodge, Thule Lodge and the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club. She was also a former member of the Jamestown Eagles Lodge Auxiliary. Surviving are a brother Earl (Naomi) Inwood of West Ellicott, a sister Marie Letten of Greenhurst and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Genevieve McAlpine, Mildred Near, a brother Walter Clark and her step-father Earl D. Inwood. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd. Jamestown, NY 14701.
