Obituary of Dorothy G. Lloyd

Dorothy G. Lloyd, 90, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Ashville (?) died Thursday January 28, 2010, in the home of her daughter in Greensboro. She was born November 21, 1919, in Jamestown, the daughter of Leon and Ellen Anderson Chandler. She graduated from Jamestown high School in 1937 and from Jamestown Business College in 1939. Prior to her retirement in 1985, she was employed by Adanlock Corporation as secretary/ treasurer for many years. She was a member of Zonta Club, Lakewood Memorial Post #1286 American Legion Auxiliary, Ashville Fire Department Auxiliary, Little Theatre of Jamestown and AARP having served as president of the Greensboro chapter. Here's where you could put in words of personal remarks or hobbies, etc. Surviving are two children David (Nancy) Lloyd of Lakewood and Nancy Ellen Lloyd of Greensboro, five grandchildren Scott (Dru) Cole, Stacey (Tom) Fardink, Lisa (Tony) Gizzi, Jill Chase and Steven (Alicia) Lloyd, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin F. Lloyd, whom she married in 1942 and who died in 1969 and a great grandson Tom Pratton. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Erin and Mike Beckerink will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville.
