Obituary of Nancy J. Carlson

Nancy J. Carlson, 80, of 145 Chandler St, formerly of 73 Summit Ave, died at 3:56 p.m. Saturday (January 23, 2010) in WCA Hospital. She was born December 30, 1929 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Leonard and Hildur Signell Tedquist. Nancy was a 1948 graduate of Jamestown High School and was confirmed at First Covenant Church. She was a member of Thule Lodge and AARP. A Florida resident from 1983 until 1992, she worked at Roma's Restaurant in Apopka, FL. Nancy enjoyed knitting, and spending time with her family, especially playing cribbage. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Carol) Carlson of Jamestown; Scott (Pat) Carlson of Chesterfield, VA; a daughter, Randi (Martin) Graves of Fort Mill, SC; seven grandchildren, Carl (Shannon) Carlson, Christopher Carlson, Richard (Chelsey) Carlson, all of Charlotte, NC; Eric (Christy) Carlson of Jamestown; Samantha Carlson of Rocky Face, GA; Kate Carlson of Cohutta, GA; Miranda Carlson of Chesterfield; two great grandchildren, Jaidyn Fritz, and Sawyer Carlson; a sister, Mary Ann Lindquist of Lakewood; two brothers, Ronald Tedquist of Bemus Point; and Steven Tedquist of Jamestown. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Carlson whom she married June 24, 1950 and who died July 8, 1993. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 12 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
