Obituary of Pearl R. Peppy

Pearl R. Peppy, 93, formerly of 206 Indiana Ave. passed away at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday (January 20, 2010) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident for most of her life she was born May 18, 1916 in Anita, PA a daughter of the late Salvatore and Nancy Baglia Bellavia. Before her retirement she was employed for many years as a receptionist for her two son's dental practice. In earlier years she had worked as a manager for the former Grant's Department Store Luncheonette and also worked as a clerk for the Geer-Dunn Company. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. James. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. In later years she was a volunteer at W.C.A. Hospital where she earned her gold pin for her many years of service. Surviving are two son's Dr. S. Jack (Alvera) Peppy, Dr. Gerald C. (Donna) Peppy both of Jamestown, six grandchildren Gerald C. Peppy of Plantation, FL, Dr. Terrence S. (Renee) Peppy of Windermere, FL, Dr. Samuel J. Peppy, Jr., Dr. Anthony J. (Kristie) Peppy both of Jamestown, James D. Peppy of Manassas, VA, Regina M. (Steven) Hess of Jamestown and her five great grandchildren Christopher, Stephen, Nicholas, Michael and Christina Peppy. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Peppy whom she married November 26, 1936 in St. James Catholic Church and who died August 12, 1967, a sister Susan Urso and three brothers John, William and Anthony Bellavia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell Duffy, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
