Obituary of Patricia S. Button

Patricia S. Button, 76, formerly of 227 Hunt Road and 944 Fairmount Ave, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday (January 19, 2010) in the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility. An area resident since 1947, she was born January 1, 1934 in Warren, PA the daughter of the late George A. and Sybil M. Mowris Simmons Sr. She was a 1951 graduate of Jamestown High School and attended Jamestown Business College. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Barmore Sellstrom Inc and was a member of Celoron United Methodist Church, the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, and the Samuel Derby Post #556 American Legion in Frewsburg. Surviving are her son, Brian R. (Dianne) Button of Newfane, NY; two daughters, Melodee (Steven) Zaricki of Nanticoke, PA; Georgette (Charles) Hilton of Lexington, KY; four grandchildren, Tiffany Weaver of Lockport, NY; Jeremy Button and Shannon Button both of Newfane; Joshua Hilton of Lexington; four great grandchildren; a sister, Kay (Christopher) Widdowson of North Warren, PA; and two brothers, George A. Simmons Jr. of Jamestown and Craig A. Simmons of Jamesville, NY. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rue D. Button Jr. whom she married August 28, 1955 and who died January 3, 2009. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Samuel Shreffler will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service Friday in the funeral home.
