Obituary of Robert G. Williams

Robert G. Williams, 84, of 229 Baker St Jamestown, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday (January 9, 2010 in WCA Hospital. He was born September 22, 1925 in Patton, PA the son of Bert and Margaret Morgan Williams. Robert was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany during WWII. Prior to retirement in 1985, he was employed at Marlin Rockwell Corp for 35 years. He attended the Wiltsie Community Church and was a member of the Ira Lou Spring Post #149 American Legion. He was also active with Footsteps and Koinonia. For many years, he played softball in the area on several teams including the MRC team. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Stephany Lacey Williams whom he married June 21, 1950; four children, David E. Williams (Mary Robin Craig) of Cleveland Hts, OH; Joy Ann Williams (Gerard LeDoux) of Providence, RI; Robert E. Williams (Jan) of Jamestown; Karen Williams (Robert Andrews) of Bemus Point; seven grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Marissa Williams, Jennifer Williams, Rachel Conti (Chris), Robert M. Williams, Jonathon Andrews, and Lacey Morgan Andrews; a brother, Milton Williams of New Hope, AL; a sister, Sylvia Volk (Robert) of West Ellicott; and a sister in law, Louise Williams. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua Williams; and two brothers, Bert and John Williams. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Wiltsie Community Church. Pastor Todd Venman will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Koinonia community sing will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
