Obituary of Georgina R. Slojkowski
Georgina R. Slojkowski, 87, of 44 Pennsylvania Ave., died Friday January 8, 2010, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 26, 1922 in The Black Isle, near Inverness, Scotland.
She was the widow of Leon A. Slojkowski, Sr., whom she met during WWII and married July 22, 1941 in the Highlands of Inverness, Scotland.
She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
In her earlier years in Scotland she won several thespian awards for portraying different Shakespearian characters. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was dearly loved by her family. She will be remembered for her storytelling and poetry writing.
Surviving are two children Leon "Scott" (Suzzanne) Slojkowski, Jr. of Jamestown and Grace Kensey of Jamestown, three grandchildren Lori (Jeff) Morrow of Wauwatosa, WI, Leon (Christina) Slojkowski of Jamestown and Holly (Neil) Dobson of Toronto, Canada and five great grandchildren Joshua and Caitlin Morrow, Emma and Alexa Dobson and Owen Slojkowski.
Besides her husband who died August 2, 2004, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Apostles Parish SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 3-6 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home.
