Obituary of Donald K. James
Donald K. James, 77, 106 Waldemere Way, Lakewood, died at 11:42 p.m. Friday December 18, 2009, in WCA Hospital.
He was born March 18, 1932, in Ashville, a son of the late Leon and Lucille Davenport James.
A Korean War veteran, he served in the US Army from 1952-54.
He was president of Tri-James Services, Inc, a family owned business operating for more than fifty years. He was also co-owner and operator of James Lakefront Camping, Lakewood.
He attended Bemus Point United Methodist Church and was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, Lakewood Memorial Post American Legion, Celoron Moose Lodge, Jamestown Elks Lodge and the Mayville VFW.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling, but most of all he loved his family and spending time with all of them.
Surviving are his wife the former Marilyn "Peachie" Clark, whom he married December 14, 1957, three children Bruce (Eva) James and Brian and (Rhonda) James, both of Ashville and Diane (Kevin) Sturzenbecker of Jamestown, eleven grandchildren, Korrin Fairbank, Kristin, Karlee, Kendall, Tanner and Nolan James, Rachel Ernewein, Ryan, Tara and Reid Sturzenbecker and Katy Hollenbeck, seven great grandchildren Clayton, Carson and Karagan Fairbank, Mackenzie Ernewein, Adalyn Walrod and Emma and Grace Hollenbeck and four brothers Avlin (Jean) James of Ashville, LeRoy James of Florida and Clyde (Sandra) James and Lewis (Pauline) James, both of Lakewood.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Walter James and two sisters Phyllis Barton and Dorothy Seeley.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Douglas Kibbe of Bemus Point United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
