Obituary of Jane I. Holmes

Jane I. Holmes, 82, of Tanglewood Manor, 560 Fairmount Ave. W.E. formerly of 51 Benedict Ave. Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly at 7:49 a.m. Friday (December 11, 2009) in the emergency room of W.C.A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident she was born March 17, 1927 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late John and Laura Dame Jensen. In earlier years she had worked for the former Murphy's Department Store and the Automatic Voting Machine Company. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved to play cards, bingo and also spent many hours crocheting. Surviving is her husband Roy R. Holmes whom she married November 22, 1969, her four children Terry (Teresa) Leonard of Franklinville, NY, Delora (Gary) Kennelley of Jamestown, Linda (Robert) Hilburger, Chuck (Lorraine) Leonard both of Lakewood, NY, seven grandchildren Jody Zahn, Travis Leonard, Junie Eimiller all of Jamestown, Heather Yarborough of Chicago, IL, Robert Hilburger, Jr. of Los Angeles CA, Nathan Hilburger of Albany, NY, Chuck Leonard, Jr. of Lakewood, and three great grandchildren Bannon Eimiller, Zachary Zahn and Caden Hilburger. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Irene Quist and two brothers Laverne and Edward Jensen. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Clyde Mohl, pastor of the Lakeside Bible Chapel, Bemus Point will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
