Obituary of Lois E. Duck

Lois E. Duck, 78 of 232 King St, died at 5:05 p.m. Friday (November 27, 2009) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 3, 1931 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Carl G. and Betty Carlson. Lois attended Jamestown Schools and was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed at WCA Hospital. Lois enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and traveling with her husband. Surviving is her husband of 60 years, John F. Duck; two sons, John F. (Linda) Duck Jr. of Chelsea, MA; Brian (Jonni) Duck of Busti; five grandchildren, Katie, John III, Alicia, Melisa, and Tim; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Virginia (Roger) Vine of Jamestown; and a brother, Richard (Wilna) Carlson of Tampa, FL. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cathy Lyn Duck; and a brother, Roger Carlson. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Alison L. Leitzel, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
