Obituary of Susan P. Kepic

Susan P. Kepic, 90, passed into the nearer presence of our Lord on November 25, 2009, on what would have been her 63rd wedding anniversary. She died at the Upland, California, home of her only-child, Thomas J. Kepic and his wife, Charlotte. She is survived by her grandson, Michael, a student at Fresno State University, as well as her remaining sibling, sister, Elizabeth Johnson of Jamestown, NY, with whom Mrs. Kepic lived from 1993 to 2007. At that time, Dr. Kepic, a specialist in Periodontics, moved his mother to Upland so that she could be with her immediate family. Born on April 24, 1919 in Quecreek, PA, Susan Kepic was raised in Monessen, PA, with her parents, George Petro and Anna Tkach, and her three sisters, Mary, Anna, and Elizabeth, and two brothers, Mike and John. In 1946 she married John Kepic; the couple soon relocated to Jamestown, NY, which became the home of their family life. A woman of deep Catholic faith, Susan Kepic was for many years a member of Saint James Roman Catholic Church; in later years, Mrs. Kepic attended SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. A member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Mrs. Kepic was an active participant in church projects, especially enjoying cooking for bake sales. Mrs. Kepic was distinguished by her strong work ethic. After working for many years in both Crescent Tool and Proto Tool, she retired only to begin another 25-year career in real estate, even reselling the same home on many occasions! A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Apostles Parish Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to Holy Apostles Parish Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 508 Cherry St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
