Obituary of Hildegarde R. Sculley

Hildegarde R. Anderson Sculley, 93, formerly of 165 Aldren Ave. and 23 Warner Place, died at 7:20 p.m. Friday November 20, 2009, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Jamestown, she was born February 5, 1916, a daughter of A. Elof and Lydia Seastrom Anderson. She was a 1934 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1938 graduate of WCA Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her retirement in 1978, she was employed by WCA Hospital as a registered nurse. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and its Home Builders, Hillcresters and Tuesday morning Heart to Heart Bible Study. Her other memberships include WCA Hospital Nurses Alumni Association, Chautauqua County Graduate Nurses Association, Business and Professional Women's Retired Group, Political Study Group, Norden Women's Club, American Scandinavian heritage Foundation, Marvin Community House, Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary, AARP, Mt. Sinai-Mecca Order of Eastern Star, Thule Lodge and Vikings. Surviving a son Major General US Army (retired) Patrick D. (wife Peggy) Sculley, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister Thelma Brynolfson of Kenmore, NY and a brother Roger Elof Anderson of Lakewood. She was preceded in death by a daughter Kathryn Ann Volpe and a brother Arthur W. "Red" Anderson. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. Sunday and for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
