Obituary of Ryan Mark Sandy

Ryan Mark Sandy, 37, of the Intermediate Care Facility, 862 Foote Ave. passed away at 12:10 p.m. Friday (October 30, 2009) in W.C.A. Hospital. He was born June 8, 1972 in Jamestown, NY a son of Donald K. and Sandra L. Buck Sandy. He was involved in many activities with the Resource Center in Jamestown and the Rehabilitation Center in Olean, NY. He will be remembered as a beloved son and brother who was always smiling and beaming with joy and sunshine. He loved to listen to music and was always interested in hearing things. Ryan will live on as he was an organ donor in hopes that he could help others live longer. Surviving are his parents of Jamestown, a sister Amelia Sandy of San Diego, CA, a brother Keith Sandy of Jamestown and his extended family who loved and cared for him, the staff and residents at the B-3 Intermediate Care Facility on Foote Ave. and the Children's ICF Home on Buffalo Rd, Olean. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Chester L. and Edna S. Sandy, his maternal grandparents Leafy and Robert Fish, an infant sister Kristina Sandy and an infant brother Daniel Sandy. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Chapel of First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Billy J. Banks, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church c/o the Ryan Sandy Memorial Fund, 120 Chandler St. Jamestown, NY 14701, to give recognition and honor to his caregivers.
