Obituary of Marjorie E. Conroe
Marjorie E. Conroe, 85, formerly of 603 Prospect St., died Saturday October 24, 2009, in the Goodell Home.
She was born October 5, 1924, in Bradford, PA, the daughter of the late Morris and Mary Fish Conroe.
She received her bachelor's degree from Villa Maria College and her master's degree from State University of New York at Buffalo and Syracuse University.
She was employed as office manager of the Chautauqua County office at the State Legislature, Albany, NY. She later worked for the family owned business Conroe Concrete, Inc as accountant and general manager.
She was a communicant of St. John's Roman Catholic Church. At one time she was very active in politics and also belonged to many social clubs including Moonbrook Country Club, Jamestown Bridge Club, Fenton Historical Society and Marvin Community House.
She was an excellent golfer and bridge player. She loved to travel and raise miniature poodles which were a great part of her life.
Surviving are two nephews David and Douglas Conroe, a great nephew Mark Conroe, a great niece Natalie Conroe and two cousins Patricia Budnick and Bonnie Krum.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Conroe in 1983.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed.
