Obituary of Mary G. Starks

Mary G. Starks, 79, of 418 East Fifth St. passed away at 1:33 p.m. Friday (July 9, 2010) in her home. An area resident for most of her life she was born July 13, 1930 in Williamsport, PA. She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother and grandmother who loved to spend time playing bingo. She was affectionately known as the "Bingo Queen" by her family. Surviving are two daughters Theresa A. (Joe) Gullotti, Cynthia Philbrick, a son Bernard Richard Philbrick all of Jamestown, 24 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a sister Audrey Shirey of Ridgeway, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George W. Starks who died August 20, 1998, a son Fred Duryee, Jr. and eight brothers and sisters. A private family service will be held in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray, retired chaplain of W.C.A. Hospital will officiate. Burial will be in the Ivory Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
