Obituary of Suzanne Brake

Suzanne Drake Brake, 82, of the United Methodist Garden Apartments, Falconer, NY passed away on Monday evening (August 10, 2009) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. Suzanne was born July 25, 1927 in Tompkins, PA and was raised in Jamestown, NY by her adoptive parents, Dr. Levant and Inez Jenkins Drake. Sue graduated from Jamestown High School in 1945 and then married James R. Brake. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting and crocheting and found great joy in designing and making doll clothes. Her first love was raising her seven children. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Carter) Frazier of Bountiful, Utah; Rebecca (Gary) Carter of Erie, PA; four sons, Patrick (Karen) Brake of Kansas City, MO; Michael Brake; Sean (Debby) Brake; and Brian Brake all of Jamestown; 17 grandchildren, Jennifer and Elizabeth Brake; Allison and Stephanie Brake; Tomela Frazier Smith; Michelle (Rick) Brown; Nathan (Kelly) Haley; Jeremy (Tammy) Haley; Jeff Haley; Sheila (Scott) Turner; Blair and Lyle Brake; Shannon Brake; Scott, Luke, Dan, and Rachel Brake; and 16 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband James in 1967; a son, Daniel Brake in 1991; and an infant grandson, Joshua Brake. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
