Obituary of Eleanor Denka

Eleanor Denka, 81, of 46 Stewart Ave. died at 4;14 p.m. Saturday (August 1, 2009) in her home. A lifelong area resident she was born June 5, 1928 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late E. George and Jane Treska Denka. She was a 1946 graduate of Jamestown High School and was attended the St. Elia Albanian Orthodox Church. Before her retirement in 1990 she was employed as a senior account clerk for the City of Jamestown for 15 years. Surviving is her sister Louise Denka with whom she shared her home, a niece Kathi Oiness of Henderson, NV and three nephews Dr. David Denka, Andrew Denka both of Dayton, OH, Michael Denka of Puget Sound, WA and a cousin Dorothy Denka Koenig of St. Clair Shores, MI. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Dr. George A. Denka who died November 16, 1998. A private family service will be held Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Gregory Becker of St. Elia Albanian Orthodox Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
