Obituary of Carol S. Brunecz
Carol S. Brunecz, 79, formerly of 4321 Lawson Road, Jamestown, died at 6:45 p.m. Sunday (July 26, 2009) at the Rouse Home in Youngsville, Pa.
An area resident most of her life, she was born December 26, 1929 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Albert and Elmina Anderson Swanson.
She had earlier been employed by Hydraulic Products in Jamestown; and for 15 years worked as a secretary for the Weber Knapp Company, retiring in 1988.
Carol enjoyed quilting, reading and especially growing flowers and her garden.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Brunecz of Warren, Pa.; two daughters, Sandy (James) Lyle of Scandia, Pa. and Susan (Robert) Carlson of Denver, CO; four stepchildren: Judy Hottel of Warren, Vicki (Ron) Blackmer of Kiantone, NY, Nick Brunecz of Busti, NY, and James Brunecz of Lakewood, NY; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Kimball of Frewsburg, NY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Hopkins who died September 5, 1962; a great-grandson, Tyler Hottel; and a brother, Norman Swanson and sister, Helen Newburg.
A private family funeral service will be held. The Rev. Marcus Briggs will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home.
