Obituary of Margaret V. Bundy

Margaret V. Bundy, 86, formerly of 131 Hunter St Jamestown, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday (July 16, 2009) in Absolut at Salamanca. She was born April 15, 1923 in Dunkirk, NY the daughter of Ethel Olson. For many years, she was employed as a waitress at the former Sherwood Restaurant, and was a member of St Luke's Episcopal Church in Jamestown. She enjoyed her flower gardens, watching the Chickadees at her bird feeder, crafts, reading, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Our Mom loved to watch Little House on the Prairie with Michael Landon. In one episode, he wrote "Remember me with smiles and laughter for that is how I will remember you. If you only remember me with tears, then don't remember me at all". I know that this is what our Mom would be saying to us all now in our time of sorrow. Margaret's children and grandchildren were very dear to her heart. She loved spending time together as a family. Surviving are four daughters, Gloria Gunton of Franklinville; Shirley (Jim) Holmes of MT Dora, FL; Cynthia (Marvin) Shellhouse of West Ellicott; Diana (Ken) Miller of Jamestown; a son, Robert (Beth) Bundy of Jamestown; 19 grandchildren, Todd, Jill, Jamie, Tim, Marc, Sheree, Tracy, Amy, Kim, Kris, Karen, JR, Brian, Doug, Tricia, Gary, Stephanie, Joey, Scott; and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Bundy in 1963; a son, Gary Richard Bundy in 1954; a grandson, Jeffrey Bundy in 2003; four sisters, Marion, Helen, Betty, Cleta; a brother, Leo; and her companion of 33 years, Fred Miller in 1996, who was also the love of her life. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the Lind Funeral Home.
