Obituary of Mary Jane Abbate

Mary Jane Abbate, 86, of Lutheran Social Services, 715 Falconer St. formerly of 165 Aldren Ave. died at 5:25 a.m. Monday (July 13, 2009) in the emergency room of W. C. A. Hospital. A lifelong area resident she was born January 29, 1923 in Jamestown, NY a daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Dioguardi Abbate. She was a 1941 graduate of Jamestown High School and before her retirement was employed as a commission clerk for the Empire State Mutual Insurance Company where she worked for over 30 years. She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church and will always be remembered as a loving and caring caregiver for her entire family. Surviving are a nephew Carl Carmen of Jamestown, four nieces, Marilyn Maloney of Corning, NY, Shirley Casale of White, GA, Jackie Craig, Patti Michele both of DuBois, PA. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters Rose Runfola and Jane Carmen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Holy Apostles Parish of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
