Obituary of Betty J. Scolton

Betty J. Scolton, 88, formerly of 7 W. Lake St., Celoron, died Thursday June 25, 2009, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing. She was born May 30, 1921, in Erie, PA, a daughter of the late Harry and Vella Weatherby McCrea. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Firch's Bakery and earlier had worked for Jamestown Bakery, Scandia Bakery and Celoron Park. She attended Celoron schools and Celoron United Methodist Church. She had a love of gardening. Surviving are a son Richard (Gordia) Thompson, five grandchildren Jodi Howard, Shannon Card, Shelly Burley, Krystene Baggiano and Timothy Johnson, 10 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Warren McCrea. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Monday in the funeral home.
