Obituary of Lucy A. Pearson

Lucy A. Cornell Pearson, 88, formerly of 9 Crane Street and 1509 West Third Street, died Monday July 12, 2010, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center. A Jamestown native, she was born June 22, 1922, a daughter of the late Robert and Julia Benninghoff Cornell, Sr. She attended Lakewood High School and was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club Auxiliary and Herman Kent Post #777 American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband W. Alton Pearson, whom she married February 21, 1948 and who died January 13, 2000, a sister Nancy Jones and two brothers George Cornell, Sr. and Robert Cornell, Jr. No funeral service or visitation will be observed. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701
