Obituary of Marguerite M. Swart

Marguerite M. Swart, 86, formerly of 385 Hallock Street died Thursday July 15, 2010, in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A native of Verviers, Belgium, she was born April 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Fernand and Adele Marquet Malvaux. After coming to this country she was employed briefly by Singer Sewing Machines and for several years worked at the former Bigelow's Department Store as a clerk. She was a member of Marvin Community House, Vikings and Thule Lodge. Surviving are two sons Thomas Swart of Gerry and David Swart of Jamestown and two grandchildren Carrie and Steven Swart of Frewsburg. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Norman M. Swart, whom she married February 8, 1947 and who died May 7, 1995 and two brothers Clement and Jean Malvaux. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Samuel Shreffler will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, NY 14701.
