Obituary of Janet M. Johnson
Janet M. Johnson, 76, of 37 Sportsman Place, Rotonda West, FL formerly of Jamestown and Scandia, PA died unexpectedly at 10:55 p.m. Saturday (May 30, 2009) in the emergency room of W.C.A. Hospital.
She was born August 14, 1932 in Jamestown ,NY a daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude Heimiller Anderson.
Janet graduated from High School in Clearwater, FL and returned to Jamestown where she graduated from the Jamestown General Hospital School of Nursing.
Before her retirement she was a private duty nurse for many years and had also worked for the former Rowley Nursing Home.
She was a member of the Blueberry Golf Course and a former member of the Viking Lodge.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She loved golfing, knitting and watching movies. She was also an avid reader and loved to go camping with her family over the years.
Surviving is her husband Kermit B. Johnson whom she married July 11, 1953, three daughters Catherine M. (Dennis) Faulk of Jamestown, Jody A. (Randy) Christensen of Scandia, PA, Susan M. (Gene) Shoup of Tucson, AZ, five grandchildren Dr. Michael W. Faulk, Jason A. Faulk, Travis B. Faulk all of Jamestown, NY, Shannon M. Faulk of Williamsville, NY, Jessica M. Fruge of Vail, AZ, a step-grandson Jim R. Christensen of Clarendon, PA, ten great grandchildren and a brother Burton Anderson of Lakewood.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Oliver "Pinky" Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Apostles Parish SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery. Visitation will not be observed.
The family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Make A Wish Foundation of Western New York, 3901 Genesee St, Suite 110, Buffalo, NY 14225.
