Obituary of Daniel F. Johnson

Daniel F. Johnson, 69, of 234 McKinley Ave., died at 11:22 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 in WCA Hospital. He was born in Jamestown on October 9, 1939, the son of the late Fred E. and Irene Johnson. Dan had attended Jamestown Community College and in earlier years was employed by the former Chase Interiors in Falconer. He loved to read and greatly enjoyed old John Wayne movies. Surviving are five children: Kimberly (Robert) Clark of Jamestown, Fred Johnson of Jamestown, Martha (Tracy) Butcher of Gerry, William (Missy) Johnson of Jamestown and James Johnson of Mayville; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Thomas Whitmore of Dunkirk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Brosius Johnson who died in June of 1977, and a son, Daniel F. Johnson, Jr. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Monday.
