Obituary of Betty Ann Carlson
Betty Ann Carlson, 69, of 1751 Park St. Jamestown, and Sebring, FL, died Saturday (August 7, 2010) in the Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA.
She was born September 9, 1940 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Anders and Helen Hallgren Johnson.
Betty was a graduate of Jamestown Business College and prior to retirement, worked in the corporate accounting department at Marlin Rockwell Corp. for 20 years. She was confirmed at, and was a lifelong member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was active in their "Piece Makers" quilting group with quilts made for the Salvation Army Agnes Home. She was also a member of the former Jamestown General Hospital Auxiliary; a volunteer at WCA Hospital for over 15 years; and a longtime member of the Vikings. Betty was active in the Waterway's Knitting Guild and the Embroidery Guild of America, Jamestown Chapter. At Christmas, she was involved with the Doll Tea at the Salvation Army and the Linus Project.
Surviving are her husband, Burnette J. Carlson whom she married August 26, 1961 in Bethel Lutheran Church; two sons, Glenn (Sarah) Carlson of Mooresville, NC; Timothy Carlson of San Diego, CA; a grandson, Benjamin Carlson of Mooresville; four cousins, Harold Alden, and Mildred Roach, both of Jamestown; William Johnson of Warren, PA; and Robert Hallgren of Beasley, TX.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
