Obituary of Norma J. Carr
Norma Jean Stevens Carr, 79, of 1502 Blockville Watts Flats Road Ashville, NY died at 9:15 p.m. Monday (August 9, 2010) in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born April 6, 1931 in Jamestown the daughter of the late Harold Charles and Onnolee Mae Cobb Stevens.
Norma was a 1949 graduate of Celoron High School. She was a homemaker and mother and interested in arts and crafts. She won several blue ribbons at the fair for charcoal portraits of her grandchildren. Her memberships include Remocwen, and the Spotted Vagabonds Coachman Camping Club. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband Calvin Ray Carr whom she married July 21, 1962 in Orlando, FL; four sons, Martin C. (Anita) Juul of Manassas, VA; Kevin E. (Beth) Juul, Gregory W. (Connie) Juul both of Frewsburg; David B. Carr of Jamestown; a daughter, Kathleen W. (Kurt) Possai of Thief River Falls, MN; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Ben (Pat) Stevens of Venus, TX.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Juul; a great grandson, Parker Juul; a sister, Constance Stevens; and a daughter in law, Melinda Juul.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. Kevin L. Costner, pastor of Camp St. United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
